As one of the major cities along the Romantic Road, Würzburg is an extremely attractive destination. Situated in Northern Bavaria, Franconia, the city welcomes numerous tourists yearly. The Würzburger Residence has been inscribed on the list of UNESCO’s World Heritage Sites. It is considered one of the world’s most beautiful examples of Baroque art. Another major tourist attraction along the road is the beautiful town of Füssen. It is famous for its Hohes Schloss, the Basilica of St Mang and the former monastery of St Mang, not to mention the nearby Neuschwanstein Castle which is worldwide famous. The surroundings of the town are also very attractive, with several beautiful lakes. Exploring the town and its surroundings is a very romantic experience.

Rothenburg ob der Tauber

About halfway between Munich and Frankfurt is the beautiful town of Rothenburg ob der Tauber. Its astonishing medieval old town centre is very popular among tourists. Among the most beautiful landmarks of Rothenburg ob der Tauber are the following: the Town Hall, the Market Square, the old Town Wall, the interesting Medieval Crime and Punishment Museum, the Church of St. Jacob and others.

Augsburg is a scenic city situated along the Romantic Road. It is famous for being the birthplace of the well-known writer, Bertold Brecht. His house is a popular tourist attraction of the city. Besides, there are other sights in Augsburg, too, including the Town Hall, the Maximilianmuseum, the Fuggerai, Augsburg Zoo and so on.
