Germany is a country full of both cultural and natural sights. With huge cities like Berlin, Munich, Hamburg or Cologne, with wonderful palaces, castles, interesting museums, historic regions, natural jewels and the local cuisine, Germany is a top tourist destination in Europe. I have already presented you numerous cities and attractions of Germany. Below I will present you the top 5 natural attractions in Germany which are the following: the Lake Constance, the Harz National Park, Röthbachfall, Lake Königsee and the Jasmund National Park. All of the previously mentioned sights are worth visiting natural attractions of the country. I suggest you to visit as many as you can!

Lake Constance

One of the major tourist destinations of Germany, Lake Constance is a wonderful lake of the country. The lake is actually situated on the territory of three countries: Germany, Austria and Switzerland, near the Alps. It is a large lake which includes numerous islands on its surface of which perhaps the most popular one is the wonderful Mainau Island. The lake has a picturesque setting and attracts many tourists every year.

The Harz National Park

The Harz National Park is known in Germany as the Nationalparkverwaltung Harz. It is situated in the central part of the country, on the border of three provinces. The national park is mostly forested. It is divided into two parts: the Lower Harz which is covered by deciduous trees and the Upper Harz which is covered by coniferous forests. The fantastic protected area is a major visitor attraction of Germany, especially for nature-lovers.


Röthbachfall is the tallest waterfall of Germany. It is over 470 m high and it is situated near the Obersee Lake, within the Berchtesgaden National Park. The waterfall is also considered one of Germany’s most popular ecotourism destinations. It drags innumerable visitors every year, together with the national park. The waterfall has a picturesque setting and it is absolutely a top natural jewel of Germany.

Lake Königsee

Besides the Lake Constance, the Lake Königsee is another beautiful lake of the country. Located in the Berchtesgaden National Park, the lake is very attractive for nature-lovers. It is an absolutely must-see natural jewel of the country. The lake is considered one of the cleanest of the country. You can opt for making a boat ride on the surface of the lake. The Jasmund National Park  

One of the most beautiful protected areas of the country, the fantastic Jasmund National Park is a wonderful attraction of the country. It is the smallest of its kind in the country, but attracts innumerable tourists. The coastal park is famous for its white chalk cliffs and is the Rügen Island’s most popular tourist attractions.
